Catch up Time

I'd like to say that a lot has happened since I last posted in October...besides Thanksgiving and Christmas not a lot has really happened. Hence the lack of blog posts.

Highlights from November:

Thanksgiving- unfortunately no pictures but we had fun. Our friends, the Valenzuela's were kind enough to invite us to their families dinner. It was delicious.

Conrad turned 30! Whaaaa? Yep I'm married to a 30 year old. He doesn't really like to celebrate birthdays but I can't not do something...so we got together with our good friends and played board games. I made him a pie.

Highlights of December:

Ward Christmas Party- My good friend Brittney volunteers every year to be in charge of the Christmas party   so of course that makes me an automatic helper. It took a lot of planning and setting up but I think it turned out pretty good.

Christmas Vacation in Utah! We had so much fun spending time in Utah with our families. Lots of shopping, parties and food, food, food.

Hitting a wolf, (or so we thought it was a wolf) with our car on our drive up to Utah. There's a kinda funny but not so funny story about that.... The very next morning after hitting the "wolf" dog my friend in Phoenix  saw a Facebook status from her friend who lives in Panguitch just off the highway (where we hit the "wolf" dog). This facebook status said, and I quote, "Has anyone seen my dog? He is a big black bushy dog and we haven't seen him since last night. We don't keep him on a leash but he usually comes back by now. I'm wondering if someone hit him but didn't say anything :("    Ummmmmm coincidence? Sadly, I don't think so. I think we are the jerks who hit her dog and didn't say anything. Woops... but who doesn't keep there dog on a leash when they live so close to the highway? In our defense it was dark and we were out in the middle of no where going 80 miles an hour. I am so sorry lady in Panguitch.

Now for the picture overload in completely random order...

Happy Birthday Conrad!

We had a white Christmas!

Apparently Jalapenos are dangerous to cut.

I got to see some of my good friends from high school.

Chloe was lovin her Christmas present.

Christmas Hound.

Part of my Dad's very large train/christmas town.

Matchy Matchy- Not on purpose of course... I promise

AWWWW

Conrad's Dad is a Branch President for one of the branches in the MTC so we got to go to church with them there and eat in the cafeteria with the missionaries. I ran into my sisters friend while we were there. Free lunch and 1 hour of sacrament. MTC church is the way to do it.

This was the night before the ward Christmas party setting up for it. We raided the Bishop's stash of candy and took this picture to send to him. If you knew our Bishop, it's not weird at all that we sent it to him. It was very late and we were a little slap happy.

The result of hitting that poor "wolf" dog. To that girl in Panguitch I am SO sorry.

Thirty and Thriving!

He forgot how to dress for cold weather...

The grand kids acting out Jesus's birth.

Sisters

Happy New Year!

Result of our long hours setting up the night before for the party.

Gigi was in no mood to celebrate the New Year. What a cutie.

This is Halloween

We had a fun filled Halloween weekend.
On Friday, we had a Halloween/ Troll 2 party with our friends.
We each brought an appetizer and fun Halloween dessert.
There were so many cute ideas on Pinterest for Halloween desserts so I decided to make a few of them.
Forked eyeballs anyone?

We watched Troll 2... The best WORST movie ever. It's SO unbelievably bad that it's good... sort of.
It's about a family who visits the small town of Nilbog (Goblin spelled backwards) and vegetarian goblins try to turn them into plants so they can eat them...Need I say more?
Just watch it and you will know what I mean.
I warn you it is slightly painful to get through but for some reason it is so funny to talk about afterward.

On Saturday, we went to our wards Halloween Trunk-or-Treat party.
This is the first year we dressed up.
Where's Waldo and Wenda?

We have now become one of "those" people who dress our dog up for halloween.
Maybe a sign we need a baby?
Last year I laughed at the idea of dressing Chloe up but I just could not resist putting my wiener dog in a hot dog costume.
She was a hit with all the little kids at the Trunk-or-Treat.
Everyone wanted to pet the wiener dog hot dog.

Happy Halloween!

3 years!

One of my very first conversations I had with Conrad, he told me, and I quote, "You are one of the weirdest girls I have ever met." Hmmm I didn't quite know how to take that, I wasn't sure if I should take offense or be flattered. It defenitely made me think. I remember later that night telling my roommate what he said and she told me it was a good thing. After Conrad and I were engaged I brought up that conversation we had when we met. He just smiled and said, " Yep, I knew I wanted you and I knew how to get ya." Ha, apparently so, here we are, 4 years since that conversation celebrating our 3rd anniversary! Crazy how time flies.

To celebrate we went to a ritsy movie theatre with plush recliner chairs, fleece blankets and pillows. We were pampered and served dinner during the movie it was so nice. Here is to 3 years with my best friend!

Arizona State Fair

Last weekend we went to the Arizona State fair with our new friends Sierra and Tyson who just moved in the ward from Pleasant Grove Utah! Sierra and I went to the same high school, its been fun having someone here from my hometown. Tyson is going to Phoenix School of Law so Conrad has a new school buddy.

At the fair we...
Stuffed our faces with fried food.
Saw the Body Worlds exhibit.
Watched a 4D movie.
Fed Butterflies.
Played with monkeys.
Saw Giant flags made of legos.
Bought singing magnets. Conrad's face was priceless when he got the magnets to sing, lets just say he thoroughly enjoyed them.
Braved a carnival ride and realized my stomach can't quite handle twirly rides anymore (Im getting old, boo!).

A Quick Trip

Conrad's good friend and old roommate got married over the weekend.
We made the 12 hour drive up to Utah on Friday.
We spent all day in Salt Lake at the wedding festivities on Saturday.

I got to go into the Salt Lake Temple for the first time.
We shopped at City Creek, I was a happy girl :)
We watched the Crazy BYU vs Utah game later that night.

On Sunday, we made the loooooooong treck back to Phoenix.
I'm pretty sure that trip gets longer and painfully longer each time we drive it.
Congratulations Steve and Laura! What a cuuuute couple! Thanks for letting us share in your special day.

Conrad Making Dinner?

Conrad and I recently got Costco memberships, and we are pretty excited about it. I asked Conrad if he felt like a real family man now that he was officially in the Costco club,  because you know its such a big deal to have a membership, its not like everyone and their dog has one ;-). We were like two kids in a candy store walking around wanting to buy everything, and when I say everything I mean Conrad wanted all the electronic stuff and I wanted all the sweets. We both agreed that now that we were shopping at Costco that we would eat out less and eat healthier (emphasis on the ER part)... baby steps. Conrad insisted on buying salmon becasuse its healthier than red meat, well if you know me, I dont like any sort of seafood but we made a compromise that if he cooked it I would eat it. As soon as we got home he went straight to work on preparing dinner for us. I was shocked! I didn't actually think he would go through with cooking it. This guy won't even make himself a sandwich or put a piece of bread in the toaster because it is "too much effort" and yet he is more than willing to cook the turkey every Thanksgiving (which he is really good at) and now apparently salmon... hmmm I can't really figure that one out but i'm not complaining one bit.

So of course I had to document this very rare occasion of Conrad cooking.

He did a great job, and I ate it and liked it. He always does a great job when he cooks. I think he should cook more often ;-).

Our Trip to Utah

We got to spend two weeks in Utah and it was so much fun, as always it went by way too fast.
We spent the first week with my family. I went shopping with my mom and sisters almost everyday while Conrad and my dad golfed. I'm pretty sure we went to every boutique in Utah County. We ate delicious food, played games went bike riding through the provo canyon and watched the olympics. My dad bought us tickets to the Journey, Pat Benetar and Loverboy concert, it was AWESOME, so much fun. Thanks Dad!
I also got to see some of my long time friends from Junior High and High School. We ate out and went back to my friends house for a little bachelorette party for my friend, Ashlee who recently got married! I love that we still keep in touch, it is always so fun to see all of them when I visit Utah.
We spent our second week at a cabin in Park City with the Mickelsen family. We finally got to meet our newest little niece Ruby who is just the sweetest little thing. We had a fun couple of days, eating yummy food, shopping at the outlets with the girls, watching the Olympics and watching the first season of Downton Abbey with the girls while the men golfed.
It was such a fun two weeks and now I am counting down the days til we go back for Christmas.
